So, one previous time I was looking at Mughal art, I was like—“Hey? What the heck! Why do these Indians look Chinese!?” And then I remembered my history lessons—it was the “Mughal Empire” because India was conquered by the Mongols. So that makes sense!
In this picture, I was pretty sure this was a girl on the right, but now I'm starting to wonder because I haven't seen any other pictures that have girls wearing these hats... and... you know... oftentimes in old art men look pretty girly...
Say hello to the first-ever baseball caps! You can find ones with pearls too if you wanna make yours prettier (generally you gotta be a princess--er, prince, or emperor though):
And here is a typical Mughal-man-dress. My personal belief is that the way they're drawn flaring out is an exaggeration, or an artistic touch—but I don't know—maybe they they wore birdcage hoops or poofy slips/petticoats to make 'em flare out. Was it to get some breeze down there or something?:
It's also popular for people to be holding a flower in these miniatures:
Most of the pictures I've seen, the people are drawn realistically (with stylized faces, of course, not everyone could have had such similar eyebrows, figures, and profiles as the pictures show...), but then there are the rare beauties like these:
Yeah... I totally empathize with those struggling to make their women look feminine and their men look masculine... but man, even I know those are some pretty impressive manly shoulders on this girl! What gets me is that whoever had this painting done of herself/his wife must have thought the artist was incredible. They must have thought this was a really beautiful painting...
I had to laugh when I found her again! (I am guessing it was done by the same artist or perhaps it really is the same woman, but I don't think it is because I think the man is a God and the picture above I believe was done of a real person [just a guess, I don't actually know]). And she even got a guy! What do I know? Love is blind:
Here is one of my favorites because of the lady being saved from the serpent and the random half-naked guy hiding in shame behind the sail:

(People sitting in the main ship): "Don't you see!? I told you we shouldn't have listened to that monkey! If you go around saving princesses from underwater kingdoms you're bound to get dragon serpents eating you up and scaring the dresses and baseball-caps off your men!"
(Girl): "I lost my shoes!"
(Man in green to little man in row-boat): "And so is the lot of sinners taken by the wily one!"
(Little monkey man): "What are you--Christian!? I think we should've stayed in the bigger boat..."
I really like this one--and I wish someone hadn't added the stupid purple background--but I really wanna know what's going on in this picture. It looks like a Cinderella scene to me. ("That's my see-through jacket!! Give it back!!):
And here are some other interesting ones:
