I've returned to my permanently temporary job, and while I was walking past the security guard, I was like, "Hey, how's it goin?" Cuz sometimes he talks to me... so I feel awkward if I don't talk to him sometimes...
And he says, "Well. How are you?" I don't get it. He must've had an ornery English teacher because he always answers, "I'm well." Which is probably proper grammar if you're writing a paper, but for talking I think it's pretty bad grammar...
"Good."
"Are you happy to be back?"
I shrug, I'm already walking away, and at the same time I stop and say, "Yeah," he says, "You shouldn't be! GO BACK TO SCHOOL!"
I laughed and finished walking away.
I am convinced more and more every year of low-paying jobs that I would much prefer a low-paying job that I actually want to do... compared to typing rebates... which isn't so bad, really. Pretty good as far as low-skill jobs go... but...
